About KREATEAMERICA
Kreateamerica is the brain-child of Wallace Bass Boyd, an award-winning, Washington, D.C.-based storyteller, who spins and crafts yarns both literally and figuratively, and helps others do the same. His work has been featured in The Washington Blade, The Washington Post, and on National Public Radio.
Schooled in the oral and literary storytelling and fiber arts traditions of his native West Georgia-East Alabama, Wallace seeks to exemplify the healing power of spinning and crafting yarns alone and with other creators. Indeed, through the untiring pursuit of this mission, he co-creates learning experiences where all people feel safe, honored, and nourished. Aspire. Inspire. Encourage. Enable.
He is co-founder of Knit-N-Crochet-N-The-City, a metropolitan Washington network of free knit and crochet support groups headquartered and founded in Takoma Park, Maryland in February 2001.
He has taught writing, knitting, and spinning classes across the southeastern and mid-atlantic states, including the The John Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, N.C. (www.folkschool.org).
Wallace is available for interviews, performances, demonstrations, workshops, and lectures on oral and literary storytelling as well as spinning and knitting.
